Friendly Hackberry

They may not be the most colorful butterfly but the Hackberry Emperor is certainly the most friendly. I know its more about minerals and mositure but I love it when one lands on one of us. Makes for a lot of fun.

One Of Many

This is a different view of a Pearl Crescent. We are seeing so many of them now.

A Color Explosion

I love this photo. The color of the ironweed with the simple white of the Cabbage White Butterfly and the green background .. wow. I love this.

Finally …

We saw our first Monarch Butterfly of the season this week. I didn't expect to see three, and maybe even four on the same day. This is very late in the season to see them. Its odd but we have not seen many of viceroy butterflies either.

A Pair of Pearls

This photo of a pari of Pearl Crescent butterflies is good, but it really was more amazing in real life. They were slowly opening and closing their wings and a form of dance. It was beautiful.
