The curiosity of a child

FullSizeRender.jpg

I captured this photo earlier this summer. This is a father and son, alone in a canoe. Sadly, we don’t have time for parents to be alone with their children .. after all, we are so busy playing the role of ‘the adult’.

I remember some of the funny questions my children posed. Now that we have grandchildren, we are getting a second chance. It is so amazing. They see the world so differently. For starters, they are so curious. The are not afraid to ask questions about anything, and everything. We can learn a great deal by observing children.

Today I salute the curious people. Those that are not afraid to ask questions and poke at the rules and experiences in life. Those that ask ‘why’ and ‘why not’, not to openly rebel, but to create something better. Be curious and make curiosity a lifetime endeavor. It will keep you young too.

“I have known plenty of people who, in their later years, had the energy of children and the kind of curiosity and fascination with things like little children. I think we can keep that, and I think it's important to keep that part of staying young. But I also think it's great fun growing old.” ~ Johnny Depp
