Lone Teal

This is not the first Blue-winged Teal I have seen this spring, but it is the first time I have been able to capture a photo of one. This male was alone on this small pond.

American Wigeon

I am farily confident that this is a female American Wigeon. I sure wish I was able to photograph a male but not this time. The photo is not great. Regardless, there she was.

Let’s Go

We took a drive to Grand Lake St Marys this week. It was windy and the water was very choppy. That didn't chase the Red-breasted Merganser away.

We spotted several of them in this sheltered bay but when I attempted to take a photo, they took off. The second photo is a runaway as he ran into the sky.

The first photo is on the open water. These are diving ducks so they disapear for what seems like hours. Beautiful birds with great fishing skills.

Old Man?

I love this photo. This Great Blue Heron looks like an old man. Not just any old man, but an old man fishing. Well, at least that is what came to my mind.

How would you caption this one?

Floating Along

I only captured this photo but there was actually four of them. Young geese incoming soon.
