Clark’s Grebe

This is a Clark’s Grebe .. or is it a Western Grebe? They are basically the same.

This is one very cool bird. It was floating along and then it just disappeared. It must have been totally submerged for 3 to 5 mintues, or at least it seemed like it. It also has these cool, red eyes.

A cool fact: “A group of grebes are collectively known as a "water dance" of grebes.“  From the iBird Pro app.

I may have mentioned it before, but I use iBird Pro to help me identify birds. It is not cheap, but there is a Lite version if you want to try with less expense. These links are to the iOS version.
