Pollinator & Flowers

So, what is a pollinator?. I love watching the various insects and birds as they come to the aid of plants. Nature is amazing. (The link above is a good read if you are interested).

Butterflies And Bees

Funny that when I was looking at this photo I missed the bee. I love it when I find more in a photo after I take the picture. That seems to happen more often than I would expect.

Bumble

This is a Brown-belted Bumble Bee. We are coming to the end of summer. Morning tempeatrues are cooler now and we are seeing fewer birds species. Time to get ready for winter (boo).

The Photo Is Better Than The Sting

This is a Lemon Cuckoo Bumblebee. They are farily common here in Ohio.

I have to share a short story. We were hiking near the Stillwater River where I was filming for a video I made for Macstock. I had a backpack over my shoulder with my gear in it. I felt a need to scratch an itch. It was under the right side of my backpack. It felt like I had a thistle stuck to my shirt, so I pulled it away and tossed it into the bush. Well, it was a bumblebee, and it got me good. It was not as painful as the last time a yellowjacket got me in the wrist, but it did hurt.

The second photo includes a Goldenrod Soldier Beetle getting in a photo bomb.
