I have been to many intesting places in the world, but I loved this view of the Mediterranean. This was one of many warm days on the beach in Tel Aviv, Israel.

I stayed in a hotel right on this beach many nights over a four year period, and on most of those days, this was the view. I was there for some very stormy nights. but that was the exception.

I have never tried to rate locations. Every corner of this amazing earth has some unique quality that makes it special. Israel is no exception. I loved it there. The people were bright, friendly and amazing. The culture is special. It is one of those places I love to visit, and hope I can go back again sometime before my time is up on this amazing earth.

Teresa and I went on a hike yesterday and I was able to fly the drone. I did that in some snow, but it was a lot of fun. The video can be viewed below or on YouTube.

Teresa and I spend a week in Israel in May, 2010. I took this photo while we were visiting the Sea of Galilee. It’s also known as Lake of Gennesaret, or Lake Tiberias. It’s a small freshwater lake (33 miles in circumference). Wikipedia puts it at 141 feet deep .. much deeper than I thought. I clearly had expectations of a larger lake, based on the Bible stories I learned as a young child.

It was hot that day. We had fish for lunch, than then when on our way. It was a great experience.

The following has nothing to do with the boat in the photo above, the lake, our my trip to Israel. Just call this my tribute to the men of the Edmund Fitzgerald:

On November 10, 1975, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank during a storm in the waters of Lake Superior. Swells of 35 feet, and 100 mph winds were too much for the Fitzgerald, and the entire crew of 29 perished.

Some may remember the Gordon Lightfoot tribute to the tragic loss:
