Awesome rocks ...

As we rounded the corner, this was our first view

Sunday I spend some time looking back through our photos from Utah, Nevada and Arizona. I have so many that I have not posted yet. I think I need to find a way to share them in bulk, at least the ones I have not shared yet. I plan to look into that.

About at the ½ way point ... it’s immense

Of all the places we visited, I think this was my favorite view. Kolob Canyons is just stunning. It’s right off of I-15, just a few minutes north of St George, Utah. If your ever in the area I recommend you stop and visit. You have to pay for a National Park Pass, but it’s good for a week.

Of course, next week, I will be looking at photos, and likely conclude that some other location is my favorite. That is the nature photographers dilemma .. candy in a candy store.

View from the scenic overlook at the peak of the drive ... feeling some OMG here.

I enjoyed the view. Go see it!!

Fort Zion

Teresa took this photo not to long after we left Zion National Park. I loved the colors they used, and found the ‘undertaker’ builiding to be a bit odd. Clearly, they didn’t want anyone walking around.

Similar but different

We are planing our next photo trip. This one will be to Yosemite National Park. I’m hoping for this spring, so fingers crossed.

I didn’t geotag this photo, but I believe I took it near Zion National Park. I love the Symmetry or the three rock formations.  Similar but different ... like people.

Springdale, a view and that river again

After the amazing drive through Zion National Park, we stayed at this Springhill Suites Marriott in Springdale, Utah. The view from the hotel was amazing. The photo to the right is from the hotel website.

We had dinner at a local burger place, then went to bed. After a very good nights rest, we awoke energized by the view. We took several photos before we headed south, including the photo above. Teresa captured this shot just before we drove off. I love this photo. Water always makes a photo better, but the overall scene is so cool.

This is the North Fork Virgin River. We spend so much of our drive crisscrossing the Virgin River, so it was fitting that we spent the night within feet of the this fork of the river.

If you are visiting Zion National Park, I can recommend this hotel. You can camp in the area too, but I like sleeping in a big king size bed.

There is color in those rocks

Teresa took this photo, as I drove from Zion National Park to St George. She was able to capture the color bands in the rocks, something I had trouble with most of the week.
