Is There A Bear Out There?

Years ago when were visited Yellowstone we did not see any bear (or otters 😁). By midday on our last day I was starting to believe we would not see any this time either. The top photos are a couple landscape shots I captured as we drove in our search.

Then it happened. We saw a line of cars off to the side of the road. A couple told us there was a bear. I sure coud not see any bear.

The night before we heard about a local fisherman that was Mauled by a grizzly not far from our AirBnB. I was not interested in that kind of bear experience, but I continued to try to find this bear. When I looked using my 600mm lens on my camera, I found two of them. The last photo is a black bear. She was a long distance from us. I even added the circle so you know where to look in the photo.

We saw a lot of wildlife on this trip, but left very satisfied. I highly recommend spending as much time as possible at Yellowstone. Its amazing.

More from Yellowstone:

We drove for hours, stopping every time we thought there was some wildlfie to photograph, or a beautiful landscape to capture. Why do we do that? Curiosity!! These shots are an example. We had pulled off to the side of road. Sadly, we saw nothing of interest.

It would have been easy to drive on. In the moment, curiosity does not allow us to stop. It drives us to look further. We continued up to hike around the area. The reward? This pair of [Common Mergansers](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_merganser) was enjoying the sun and lunch. Their bills, known as ‘sawbills’ help them grip their prey. A very cool duck.
