Brood What?

These birds are Brown-headed Cowbirds. The Cowbird is a brood parasite. The female deposited their eggs in the nest of other birds of different species. The lighter colored one on the right is a female. Actually, I think the one right above her is also a female. I guess it’s that time of year, even for the cowbird.

By the way, some of the host birds recognize the ‘odd’ egg, and through them out of the nest.
