Bell Rock, Sedona

I don’t know that the rocks (red sandstone) get more beautiful than in Sedona, AZ. They have some of the coolest shapes, and are named after some common things. For example, Coffee Pot Rock, Chimmeny Rock, and of course, Bell Rock (pictured above). For more, look here. 

There is a so much Native American history here too. I really need to go back and spend more time there. Someday!

One more time through the Gorge

This photo is from our final drive through the Virgin River Gorge .. for this trip. Teresa drove and I took photos this time. There is not many places to stop, and so much beauty.  The road, I-15, winds through the mountains, crossing the river several times. I love this view, and could do this drive over and over.

A slap of rock, a road, and a river

Teresa captured this photo of the Virgin River. This is but a small span of the 160 miles the river winds through Utah, Arizona and Nevada.

The Virgin River is a tributary of the Colorado River. It does not look like much but what does this look like from space?

I don’t know, but the view to the right is the gorge from 20,000 feet. You can pick out the river, carving it’s way through the rock. Kind of amazing. (Source: Wikipedia)
