Not So Common 😬

This was another surprise .. a Common Buckeye. It was a bit warmer so maybe I should not have been so surprised, but it is October. What a beautiful butterfly.

Beauty in Nature: The Vibrant Eyespots of a Common Buckeye Butterfly

I really love the colors of the Common Buckeye butterfly. It seens like most of the ones we are seeing have significant damage to their wings.

Check out those beautiful eyespots. So cool.

Past Colors

For the most part the butterflies are now gone until the spring. The various insects are doing their thing. We still see a few birds and some water fowl, but I am going to post a few photos from the year that I think I missed. This one is a Buckeye .. sorry if I have shared before, but I love this photo.

It’s Rough Sometimes

We saw this Buckeye Butterfly while hiking last week. When I took the photo, I realized it was a buckeye but I did not realize it had so much damage. Life must be rough for most insects, and butterflies are not an excpetion.

On another note: I have a friend that has a Nikon camera for sale. The pricer is right for a good starter camera setup. Email or DM me if you are interested.
