Look up!

Earlier this week, we were out driving around while looking for birds to photograph. We had stopped at Garbry Big Woods but had not seen anything so I was ready to head towards home. Teresa starts pointing towards the sky ... I didn’t see anything at first, but then I saw this beautiful hawk flying overhead. I managed to capture her in this photography. I was at a perfect angle and she was at the right spot for an amazing photograph. I really like this photo.

Big, beautiful Hawk

We were driving to Maple Ridge Reserve when I spotted this Broad-winged Hawk. She was not brothered when I got out of the car to take her picture. She is one of the larger hawks I have seen recently. Beautiful raptor.

Grand Lake St Marys ... Eagles

Yesterday, we visited several locations at Grand Lake Saint Marys. We manage to get in some hiking in too. Even with all the issues they have had, it’s still a beautiful lake. A couple weeks ago, we visited the east and south-east shores, today was started at Windy Point, and worked out way around to the west side.

The first photo is a of a young Bald Eagle. His sibling was nearby. Clearly, he has not molted yet, but it won’t be long. This pair remained me of the two that we have been watching near Piqua.

The second photo is of another young Bald Eagle that has already molted, but its not quite finised. Beautiful.

Kiser Lake Bald Eagle

These are not among my best eagle photos, but there were sure exciting. I talked about it in my vlog yestereday, but I’ll repeat some of it here.

We were photographing and flying the drone at Kiser Lake State Park. I have been to this Lake many times, but have never seen an eagle there. The eagle must have been courious about my drone, so she flew across the lake, and parked on a tree. A few minutes later, she flew. back across the lake, and parked in another tree. She sat there and watched until we left. Just a beautiful sight to see.
