Pole Hopping

This Red-tailed Hawk spent some time playing a game of pole hop with us.. We would stop in the road to take a photo, he would take off, fly a couple poles down the road, land, rinse and repeat.. Very funny.

There She Goes

Teresa was not with me on this day. I was driving between hiking locations when I spotted this red-tailed hawk. I stopped the card hoping to capture a photo before she took off but no such luck. I still captured a couple interesting photos. Beautiful.

Looking Around

It has been a while since I photograpned a Red-shouldered Hawk. I loove how he looked back at my direction without moving his body.

Hunting .. or Date Night

This is happening more frequently it seems. We were driving to a hiking location when I spotted this Red-tailed Hawk in a tree just off the road. I had Teresa stop the car so I could try to capture a photo. The hawk did not wait and took off. I figured that was it, but she circled and landed in the same tree. I snapped these photos.

A little later we drove by the same tree and saw two of them. The photos were not as good, but I figure it was a couple out for date night. 🤣
