Happy 21st? 🤣

Today is my 21st birthday 🤣. Well, I say that every year. Lets go with 21 with 46 years of experience.

Today also marks seven years cancer free. I had a radical prostatectomy seven years ago today. I was not healthy and didn't realize how bad it really was. The surgery went well, but I could have been avoided if I had focused on my health over my lifetime. For years I went to the gym, but I had a fork problem. I didn't eat right. After cleaning up my diet I am a different preson. I eat fewer carbs and removing ultra-processed 💩. These days I am carnivore and eat meat and eggs. Life is good and my health is so much improved.

These cardinals remind me that good health comes with effort. Now on to the next 50 years.

The miracle of healing

FullSizeRender.jpg

I am one week post a radical prostatectomy. My surgery was the day before Thanksgiving, 2017. My body is cancer free, and is healing.

Surviving cancer is not all physical. Attitude, mindset .. the mental stuff really matters. Not long after I was diagnosed, I had a conversation with someone that left me so deflated. There is no need to waste energy on that type of influence.

I am healing from the cancer, and healing from the surgery. The bodies ability to heal and renew is amazing. Perhaps healing is not so much about the physical process we call healing, and more about the mental healing that needs to occur.

I like this quote:

"Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn't you - all of the expectations, all of the beliefs - and becoming who you are." ~ Rachel Naomi Remen

Enjoy the day!
