Reflections

What an interesting photo. When I shot this photo of this Great Blue Heron I was not able to see his head but the reflection was great. Super cool.

Wise, Old Heron

We saw this Great Blue Heron fishing .. or resting. Either way, he did not stick around long once we showed up. I believe this is an older male. Wise and very cool.

The photo did not come out great, but It was great to see him.

Great Blue Resort

As I wrote a couple of days ago, we saw a number of Great Blue Heron’s while hiking at Grand Lake St. Marys State Park. As we hiked out to the end of windy point, they would take off, fly a short distance, land and then watch us. This would repeat several times. Must be a good fishing spot.

Make Up Your Mind

This is a slide show .. give it a few seconds ..

While hiking near the Miami River, I looked over to my left just in time to see this Great Blue Heron flying up into the trees. I started snapping photos and managed this series of photos.

After he parked in the trees, it was a couple minutes before he took off and I captured the last photo. I guess he could not make up his mind .. stay or go.
