Let’s Crash This Feeder Party

A few days back, we planned to stop and add bird feed to the feeder at Big Woods. As we approached, I could see this hawk in the tree right beside the feeder. I was shocked to see so many birds at the feeder with this hawk right there, eyeballing dinner.

I thought this was a Broad-winged Hawk but Apple Photos sayd it is Red-shouldered Hawk. I uses several apps anbd AI tools and it was different for most of them so who knows. I sure love those eyes.

Eyes Of Wisdom

I never dreamed I would take so many photos of Bald Eagles. So amazing to me. Check out those eyes.

Life And Death

We stopped by the one of the bird feeders at Big Woods one day last week and saw a number of brids. As we were about to drive away, we saw this Broad-winged Hawk in a tree just south of the feeder. You can fill in the blanks .. who knows. Nature is often beautiful, and sometimes a little sad. Death and life are connected. Make every day great.

This Never Gets Old

We have been photographing these two Bald Eagles for years. The firat photo I took of one of them was in May of 2019. I remember how excited I was. We had seen them flying in the area for a few weeks and there he was, in a tree south of me.

I was starding at the exact same spot as when I shot that photo back in 2019. This time I saw one flying down the river approaching our location. I photographed her as she approached and flew over our heads. It was beautiful.

The second eagle soon followed but instead of flying over us, he circled and landed in a tree just over river from our location. I shot the top photo last, really close to where he was perched. What a cool experience. This never gets old .. it is exciting every time I see them.

The Tree Inspector

Yes, another Red-bellied Woodpecker. We are at the time of year when we see less variety. They are still beautiful.
