A Sinister Look

While the female cardinal is not nearly as bright as the male, they are still a very cool bird.

This is the same bird but the photo was taken minutes apart. She looks back at me in the second shot with a sinister look. Cute.

Cardinal Eve

DSC_3246.jpeg

We saw a number of cardinals this week. I captured this photo of a female cardinal on Christmas Eve ... a nice gift from nature. I guess we can call it Cardinal Eve ...

A Bad Feather Day

I see this most every September: a Molting Cardinal. Most years I seem to run across males that are molting, but while hiking this week we ran across this female that was clearly in the early stages. A bad feather day?

There She Goes

While hiking along the Miami River, I saw this male and female cardinal. The couple was just hanging around near the bike path. I shot this photo of the female as she decided she was tried of my attention. Lucky capture.

I Found Gold!

FullSizeRender.jpg

This female cardinal seems to have struck gold. This is freshly planted grass. I’m sure the worms are also very plentiful too.

This photo came out great. I love cardinals and this shot is no exception. I love it.
