Still Here

I have never see a Red-winged Blackbird this late into the season. I think I have mentioned it before but at some point this fall we were not seeing any ... then they seemed to reappear. This was taken this week, October 2024. IT wasa real surprise.

She Is Unique

We have seen a few more female Red-winged Blackbirds this week. This is one of the more interesting and detailed photos I have taken of a female red-wing. While the females do not have the bright colors of the males, they certainly have some unique markings.
