It has been a while since we have photographed a Bald Eagle. This one is one of a pair that has a nest just south of Piqua. Beautiful.

I apologize for this lousy picture. It's just out of focus. This is an excciting photo. Why? The eagles are back at their nest which means it is time for eggs and then baby egales. I can't wait.

We are approaching the time of year when the Bald Eagles lay eggs. Its weeks away for sure. We are seeing pairs of eagles in trees in the area now.

We do not see Bald Eagles at Big Woods often but this one was feasting on a dead racoon. . She noticed us and took off into the wind, soaring right above us. She landed right above me. I imagine she wasn’t too thrilled that we interrupted her lunch.
