This is a female Red-winged Blackbird. I have been trying to get a photo of one since we first saw one this spring. They are nesting!

One a recent hike, I took the top photo of an Orange Sulphur. Teresa captured the second photo of a Clouded Sulphur. We frequenly just refer to these as Sulphur Butterflies. There is actaully two other varieties: The Little Yellow and the Cloudless Sulphur. And now you know too. 🦋

We saw this nest at Big Woods this week. There is actually an older nest, likely from last year, with new material put on top. I assume someone is moving in, and wanted a remodel. The open house will be later this fall.
